* * York Based In-Person Event ONLY**STEM Learning is delighted to be working with the Royal Institution by live streaming their world-famous Christmas Lectures. This year’s theme is artificial intelligence and machine learning.Presented by <a href="https://www.rigb.org/explore-science/explore/person/meet-2023-lecturer" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Mike Wooldridge</a> : The Truth About Artificial IntelligenceAs part of this unique free event we invite UK schools and Sixth Form Colleges close to York to attend a fun filled evening that starts with a selection of workshops and demonstrations linked to AI and machine learning, a buffet for attending guests will precede the main event.At 18.00 guests will join us in the lecture theatre to watch a live streaming from London of the Christmas Lecture as it is filmed in front of a live studio audience. This is an amazing opportunity to not only watch a full lecture but to see behind the scenes of this world famous event. (Scroll down for the event schedule)If you have ever wanted to attend a Christmas Lecture but attending in person in London is prohibitive then this is the opportunity you have been waiting for!This is a free, face-to-face event, for UK-based students aged 11-18 and their educators.Please note this partner event is taking place in York and attendees will need to be able to travel to and from it.

<h3>Ticket Booking Information</h3> <h4>Teachers and Educators</h4>If you are a teacher / educator intending to bring students, please select a Teacher / Responsible Adult Ticket ONLY and detail how many students you intend to bring (up to 20 - larger groups can be accommodated by pre-arrangement). You do not need to purchase individual tickets for your students.<h4>Students</h4>If you are aged 16 -18, are in school, Sixth Form or FE College then you can book a ticket on your own behalf. Select the ticket for individual students, you will need parent / guardian approval at time of booking. You ticket will reserve a place for one individual student.<h4>Community Groups / Home Educators</h4>Community groups such as Scouts, Girl Guides etc and home educators (this can include families) will be welcome, please use the Teacher/Responsible Adult/Family Ticket to reserve places. Please note a family ticket is limited to two adults and 3 children. The youngest child must be a minimum age of 10, with the oldest being between the ages of 11-18.Priority will be given to schools local to the National STEM Learning Centre. Guests needing to leave before the end of the lecture are able to do so. We appreciate that guests may not be available for the whole event.

<h3>General Event Information</h3>A detailed plan for the evening will be emailed in advance of the event.UK schools, Sixth Form &amp; FE Colleges and youth groups can book a group ticket with a maximum number of 20 student places per educational establishment. Exact numbers of students can be changed prior to the event. Due to the nature of this event it is not open to non-UK schools and colleges etc.Tickets are limited so reserve places now.<h4>Young Person Age Range:</h4>This is a young person event for secondary school students aged 11-18, sadly, it is not suitable for primary school students. Adults reserving tickets without accompanying school aged students will not be accepted.<h4>Photography</h4>The event will have photography, please ensure all necessary permissions are in place prior to attending.<h4> </h4>
