About this event

  • Event lasts 5 hours 30 minutes

The Youth Summit 2025 will be based on the upcoming CHRISTMAS LECTURES, sponsored by CGI. For the 2025 CHRISTMAS LECTURES, Dame Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock will explore the extraordinary breakthroughs that have revolutionised our understanding of the universe, enabling us to see ever further into space, and ever further back in time.

The event is comprised of a series of in-person talks by experts on the topic as well as guided and facilitated discussions about the place of science in society and our daily lives. The aim of the Youth Summit is to gather Young People’s opinions, concerns and interests about the topic to aid the writing of the CHRISTMAS LECTURES script. Activities and demonstrations based on the topic will be available throughout the day.

This event is ideal for post-16 students with interests across the sciences, social sciences, and humanities.

A full agenda can be found below.

The 2025 Youth Summit is a free event, for students aged 16-18. We are inviting teachers to sign up a maximum of 20 students to bring along to the Royal Institution in September, to participate in this event. We are able to partially reimburse schools for travel expenses, in some circumstances. Please contact youthsummit@ri.ac.uk for more information.

Book now to secure places. Exact numbers of students can be changed prior to the event, but please book for the rough number of students you would like to come along.

If you are interested in attending but cannot easily travel to London, please keep an eye on our website as we will be releasing more dates and locations.
