About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

As part of the YHA Festival of Walking, join Ebony Hikers for a special guided walk exploring London’s historic landmarks, Royal Parks, and their surprising links to Black history.

We’ll begin at YHA London Earl’s Court, then pass some of the city’s most iconic cultural sites, including the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, and the Royal Albert Hall. Along the way, we’ll uncover how these institutions and many of the surrounding areas are connected to Black history, empire, and migration.

From there, we’ll enter Kensington Gardens and continue through three of London’s famous Royal Parks: Hyde Park, Green Park, and St James’s Park. Here too, we’ll pause to reflect on monuments, memorials, and historic events that link these open spaces to Britain’s shared history with Africa and the Caribbean.

This 6–7 mile walk offers a unique perspective on the capital blending heritage, nature, and hidden histories often left untold.
