Ebony Hikers

Ebony Hikers was founded in 2020 to provide inspiration, encouragement and support for people with Black ancestry of all ages in the UK who are interested in exploring the outdoors through hiking.

Our group aims to build a community that is accessible to those around the UK and normalise our presence in the countryside.

In addition, we aim to empower group members to co-facilitate hikes to enhance their confidence, build leadership skills and increase the likelihood of them accessing the outdoors independently.

We achieve our aims by aligning our ethos with the 5 ways to well-being model. We also make a conscious effort to build relationships and work with other organisations that align with our ethics.
