Led by digital strategist Jonny Ross (one of Yorkshire Business Insider’s ‘42 under 42’), this one-day digital marketing masterclass covers techniques for monitoring and measuring the success of digital marketing campaigns, exploring essential tools like Google Analytics and how they can be used for optimising campaigns.

This course is a useful next step for attendees of Jonny’s Social Media & SEO Masterclass (write a digital marketing plan in a day). If you want to learn how to use the main digital channels and social media platforms and develop your social media strategy, we advise booking on the Social Media & SEO Masterclass first.

If you already have a strategy but want to focus in on reporting and improving your results, then this new course is for you.

Course contents
Whether B2B or B2C, it is essential to understand the results of your digital marketing campaigns. This masterclass looks at ways of tracking campaign progress, whilst incorporating the use of analytical tools to measure their success.

As well as covering the ins and outs of Google Analytics, you will explore some of the more popular marketing tools – and some you may have never heard of – and how they can be used effectively to spot new opportunities for your business.

Expect a variety of takeaway tips and tricks that are easy to implement and can help you achieve the best results.

Course delivery

The course is delivered through a combination of seminar and presentation style learning.

The morning will focus on understanding Google Analytics and other digital marketing tools, and the afternoon will focus on how you can practically implement this into your business.

Prior to attendance, all delegates will be asked what their digital goals are – and exploring ways to help you to achieve these will be the focus of the afternoon.

This course gives practical tips and advice on how to:

  • Use web analytics to better understand campaign results
  • Monitor and evaluate the success of digital marketing campaigns
  • Choose key metrics and avoid spending hours trying to understand them
  • Ask the right questions and challenge your agency
  • Illustrate and report on the impact and ROI of your digital campaigns

By the end of the course, delegates will:

  • Understand how to strategically and effectively use Google Analytics, as well as a variety of other digital marketing tools
  • Understand how to measure website performance and use results to spot new business opportunities
  • Be able to use web analytic tools to understand in which areas budget can be focuse
  • Go away with a list of useful digital marketing tips and tricks that they can implement straight away in their business

Please note: a short email survey will be sent to all registered delegates to find out what social media platform(s) they are currently using and which they would like to understand better or use more. The results will help inform content of the session and tailor it to be as useful as possible to attendees.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Vicarage Chambers is located overlooking Leeds prestigious Park Square in the heart of the legal and financial area, and just 5 minutes’ walk from Leeds Train Station and the city centre.  The building is a stunning period property and the offices are furnished to a high standard, including original features.  Excellent public transport links and easy access to the M621, M1 and M62 motorways are just some of the benefits of the location.

Onstreet parking (using meters) is available

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation charges are applied in all cases. We regret that we have to do this, however all bookings involve administrative costs and it is difficult to fill spaces made vacant by late cancellations.


Cancellation charges depend on when the written cancellation notice is received. A full refund will be given only if more than 4 weeks’ notice is given of a cancellation, see below for refund rates:

  • Over 4 weeks’ cancellation notice: Full refund

  • 2-4 weeks cancellation notice: 50% refund

  • Less than 14 days cancellation notice: No refund unless in exceptional circumstances, for which a medical certificate may be requested.



Alternatively, a substitute delegate can be named at any time before the course. There will be no extra surcharge for making a substitution.

No refund will be payable for non-attendance or if no prior notice of cancellation is given.
The refund will be issued after the course.
