Gait analysis refers to reviewing how you run, the way your leg and foot land on the ground and how well you use your body to propel yourself forward.
What does it really tell us about how we run, our running performance and how to improve it, the shoes we should wear and what injuries we might have?
We will outline
- What our body does in different phases of walking and running
- How we land on our feet and what it tells us about our gait, injury risk, performance and the shoes that can help us
- What does pronation and overpronation really mean and what it means for our running
- The benefits of using video technology and footplates for running analysis
- Information on orthotics - when they are appropriate (or not) and how to use them
There will be practical demonstrations on the night and a chance to see how gait analysis can be applied to you!
