The Rewild Project is a community interest company (CIC) that seeks to connect people with nature. We target marginalised and disadvantaged groups to help them reach their full potential. We also run a range of projects in local communities, schools, woodlands and at festivals. About Rewild WorkshopsThis spring, we are hosting a series of workshops designed to lift your spirits and skills!The Rewild Project CIC is a non-profit, so all fees from workshop ticket sales go directly back into the organisation to help fund the amazing work we do!We have a limited number of subsidised tickets available for those on low income, so please be mindful of this when selecting your ticket price. And if you would like to give more, you can give a donation on the day.Workshops are aimed at adults, 18+ but we can make exceptions on a case by case basis.Scroll on down to discover what we will be doing on the day...

About this workshopOn this course we will be working with bulrush (scirpus lacustris), a beautifully soft natural material to weave with. We will learn some ancient techniques of cordage, plaiting and how to make a small rush foraging pouch with a strap. We’ll end by taking the pouches for a forage and learning about some of the spring greens and medicines starting to come up. You will leave with a finished pouch and the skills to make another. We will provide:<ul><li>Relaxed and fun instruction</li><li>All tools and materials</li><li>A covered area incase of rain</li><li>A fire to keep warm</li><li>Refreshments &amp; lunch including a warm homemade local organic bowl of soup &amp; roll </li></ul>What to bring:<ul><li>Warm clothing and sturdy shoes</li></ul>

About our Instructor:Amy makes shapely, functional baskets from locally grown willow and material foraged from hedgerows. She also runs outdoor learning projects to support mental health. Her passion is in the therapeutics of craft, foraging and wild medicine. She did an apprenticeship at the Cherry Wood Project in Green Woodworking and went on to specialise in basket making with Eddie Glew and Clare Ravera.
