The project was initiated to address the growing skills and knowledge gap in emerging technologies such as blockchain, Virtual and Augmented Reality, big data, cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, Biotech, Internet of Things, Python and Scala programming etc.
The key mission of Binary District is to create a strong community of researchers and developers, foster learning and innovation, and facilitate conversations that push technology industries forward. Binary District encourages mutually beneficial interactions between those with extensive knowledge of cutting-edge technology and those looking to learn and upskill.
Rust in Blockchain meetup Two of blockchain’s greatest challenges are security and speed. The language used to build blockchain products is vital in overcoming these. Join us in Berlin this August 21st for an in-depth look at one language with the most potential to help overcome these issues – Rust. 
<A HREF="https://rustinblockchain.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Rust</A> is an ideal language in which to build blockchain products. With a similar syntax to C++, Rust benefits from similar levels of security and speed. It is a strongly typed language with some clear advantages (and pitfalls) when compared to its more popular counterparts.
Rust is not easy to learn and put into action, though. At this evening event, you will gain a greater understanding of how Rust works – how it achieves the flexibility and functionality that makes it something every blockchain developer should consider making a part of their arsenal. You’ll learn about its ability to protect against common bugs and how you can start using it, with expert speakers on hand to take you through everything you need to know.
This event is run in partnership with the Nervos Network, which is built using Rust. Nervos is building an infrastructure for the future of the decentralised economy, choosing Rust for its elegance and the active, supportive community that use it. Rust in Blockchain will welcome Nervos to share their experience building using Rust and their expertise to empower others.

<A HREF="https://tmt.knect365.com/risc-v-workshop-taiwan/speakers/xuejie-xiao" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Xiao Xuejie</A>, blockchain engineer at <A HREF="https://www.cryptape.com/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cryptape</A> working on Nervos CKB. Aiming to build a truly flexible, programmable blockchain, Xuejie and his team have begun a unique and controversial journey: they built CKB VM on top of RISC-V -- an open-source instruction set architecture -- and created a powerful blockchain VM that unlocks new potential in the blockchain space. 
<A HREF="https://www.linkedin.com/in/anatoly-yakovenko/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Anatoly Yakovenko</A>, CEO and Co-Founder of Solana. Anatoly led development of operating systems at Qualcomm, distributed systems at Mesosphere, and compression at Dropbox. He holds 2 patents for high performance Operating Systems protocols, was a core kernel developer for BREW which powered every CDMA flip phone (100m+ devices), and led development of tech that made Project Tango (VR/AR) possible on Qualcomm phones.
<A HREF="https://www.linkedin.com/in/justwei/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Wei Tang</A>, Rust Developer at Parity Technologies. Wei Tang is a Rust core developer working at Parity Technologies, contributor of Parity Ethereum and the Substrate blockchain framework, maintainer of Parity Shasper. He is also the author of SputnikVM, a standalone EVM interpreter written in Rust.
<A HREF="https://www.linkedin.com/in/aimeezhu/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Aimee Zhu</A>, Founder of the Rust in Blockchain community. Aimee is an active Rust community member, organized RustCon Asia and other Rust community events as well. After working on Rust in Blockchain newsletter, Aimee has recently started setting up Rust in Blockchain community. Rust in Blockchain is a monthly newsletter focused on Rust programming and blockchain development, with a view to bringing engineering insight and experience to blockchain technology.
<A HREF="https://twitter.com/JasonTeutsch" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Jason Teutsch</A>, Founder of <A HREF="https://truebit.io/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TrueBit</A>, a scalable verification solution for blockchains. Jason analyzes and develops distributive systems security with special focus on cryptocurrencies. While proper financial incentives allow us to build powerful new systems, misplaced incentives can have dangerous consequences.
