Do you want to get out and about more on your bike but are feeling a bit rusty? Perhaps you'd like to beat the traffic jams, improve your fitness or save some fuel money by switching out a few car journeys?
Our "Rusty Riders" sessions could be just the thing for you! Yate Community Bike Hub are running sessions with instructor Karen allowing you to dust off the bike and brush up your skills in a friendly and safe environment. You can come to as many sessions as you like over the month for FREE and we encourage you to come to as many as possible!
In the 90 minute sessions you'll be able to ride in a small and friendly group based in Abbotswood. Karen will cover all the skills you need to get around safely by bike, from signaling and road positioning to route planning. Starting in a completely safe off-road location and progressing through the month to rides all around South Yate and beyond!
And if you haven't got a ride-ready bike handy? No problem! Just let us know on the booking form and the Hub volunteers will help kit you out before your first session.
Please note:
- the sessions are only open to adults (age 16+)
- places are limited so you must book and let us know that you are coming
- no bike? no problem! just let us know on the booking form and the Hub will help kit you out
- you must bring a road worthy bike, if you are unsure please attend a Dr Bike session at the Hub first to have your ride checked over (see the dates on our social media and website)
- You should be able to ride your bike but no other experience is necessary
- for insurance purposes we recommend you wear a helmet
- The course will be held in Abbotswood, meeting outside the Abbotswood Inn and returning there for refreshments and chat after.
