An overview of the SALSA Certification Scheme for food and drink producers to help assess if suitable to introduce into the business

This free event will be held at The Food Works SW, refreshments will be provided and there will be an opportunity to tour The Food Works SW facilities including our test kitchens.Outcomes – Provide an understanding of what the SALSA certification scheme can be used for which doesn&#x27;t just have to just be to sell through retailers and wholesalers. Those attending will be provided with an insight into what is involved in following the scheme, including how to get started, what activities are covered, setting up your scheme and what auditors are looking for. A local business who have recently successfully completed their certification will talk through their experience and learning from following the scheme. Guest Speaker – Jignesh Parekh, Technical Manager, Food and Drink Forum. Is a registers SALSA Auditor and Mentor. Jignesh has many years experience in all areas of food safety and compliance; HACCP, Technical Management, Implementation of food safety standards e.g. SALSA, STS, BRC global standards etc, audit preparation, internal auditing and quality management systems. E﻿llie Brown and Georgia Ludlow from Kinda Co, will be talking through their experiences of following the Scheme on their way to reaching certification earlier this summer.

T﻿his event is open to North Somerset and food and drink producers from across the South West of England.
