The drums, the costumes, the energy – Rio Carnival 2026 is finally here! & now you can come join us for this 2-hour workshop special with Alé, where you will experience a taste of Brazil & Samba – right here in Newcastle!

Whether you have danced Samba before or have only ever admired the sparkles, this Samba workshop will take you through the basics, the history & bring the energia of Carnaval!

The workshop is designed for all skill levels: we will start with the basics, introducing Samba no Pé steps & beat during the first hour and build up to learning choreography and adding performance elements during the second hour.

Alé fell in love with Brazil & Samba in 2018, when she started dancing Samba no Pé with Leeds Capela do Samba. Over the last 8 years she has performed as a Passista at multiple festivals, events and parades across the UK and has trained with some of the best Samba dancers in the world.

Continually pushing herself to learn more about Brazilian culture & the world of Samba, she began teaching 2 years ago here in the North East & her passion shines through to her students.
