Learn how to properly prepare samples for histology and fluorescence microscopy and apply this during the hands-on session!

ETH Zürich - Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE)

This workshop is articulated in two parts: Theory lectures in the morning and Hands-on sessions in the afternoon.Theory lectures will cover the following topics (circa 4 hrs, at the D-BSSE room D65.2):<ul><li>Sample preparation (Histology): good practice and pitfalls</li></ul><ul><li>Histology: Basis for immunostaining</li><li>Fluorescence: Basics</li><li>Sample preparation (Fluorescence): Tips and Pitfalls</li></ul>Hands-on rotations will cover:<ul><li>At the Histology Institute - Immunostainings on cryosections</li><li>At the Biozentrum - Immunostainings on adherent cells For participation in the hands-on session, registration is required, and the presence in the theory sessions is mandatory.</li></ul>Please note that for the theory lectures only, registration is not required.
