Sample Text is a series of conversations about art and research organised by Nat Breitenstein, Ruby Seresin, and Asa Seresin.Each event will feature food, drinks, and the opportunity for a broad, informal discussion between the speakers and audience. Sample Text 1 addresses disjunctures within interpersonal and interspecies perception and strategies for broaching these gaps. The evening will feature architect and clothes maker Gabriel Beard and filmmaker, coder, and researcher Ruby Seresin. There will be a short film screening followed by a discussion between the two speakers and attendees. The conversation will be moderated by Asa Seresin.Sample Text 1 will be held at Standpoint Gallery, 45 Coronet St, N1 6HD on Tuesday 15 July. 7pm Arrival7.15pm Film screenings with introductions by Ruby Seresin and Gabriel Beard7.45pm Discussion moderated by Asa Seresin8.15pm Drinks and food Organiser and participant bios:Gabriel Beard is an architect and clothes maker. His work addresses a wider interest in aesthetics and consumption, slow craft and processes of production.Ruby Seresin is a filmmaker, coder, and researcher. She is interested in the content and boundaries of human experience—our knowledge, feelings and perception.Nat Breitenstein is an artist working predominantly in ceramics. She is the founder of Salon Particulier and Grand Magasin.Asa Seresin is a writer, researcher, and couples therapist in training. His first book, on heterosexual culture, is forthcoming from Hutchinson Heinemann in 2027.
