Is there wheelchair access?

The Kathleen & May is a historic vessel and currently undergoing maintenance in Gloucester Docks.  As a consequence of her design and build, the vessel is not suitable for wheelchair access at this time.

Is the Kathleen & May suitable for a buggy?

Accepted Answer

No, the Kathleen & May is not suitable for buggy access.  However, buggy parking will be alongside the canal waterfront by Kathleen & May.

Is my booking refundable?

Accepted Answer

No, all bookings are non-refundable or transferable.

Question 4

Can I change my pre-booked timed entry to meet Father Christmas?

Accepted Answer

No, timed entry tickets cannot be changed after booking.

Is car parking available?

Accepted Answer

No.   Paid parking is available at the Historic Docks Car Park and at the Gloucester Quays Car Park.  Both car parks are are short walk across Llanthony Bridge to the Shipyard of T. Nielsen & Co where Kathleen & May is lying in the water.

Is Kathleen & May a tall ship?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Kathleen & May is the last remaining British built three masted, wooden hull top sail schooner left afloat in the world.  The vessel is currently without masts and rigging and under canvas to protect her from the elements until such time as she can be preserved and restored to sail.

How long will the visit last with Father Christmas in the Captain's Cabin?

Accepted Answer

The visit with Father Christmas will last approximately five minutes for each ticket booked.  Every endeavour will be made to ensure that the visit schedule will run to time wherever possible.

Question 9

How will I access Kathleen & May?

Accepted Answer

Access to the ship will be via a gangplank.  Each visitor will be guided aboard by a trusty crew member.

Question 10

Is there a requirement to arrive earlier than the timed entry on your ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  Please arrive 10 minutes before your booked timed entry.
