New Beginnings: An Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Journey with Sarsen Ecstatic Dance

Step into a fresh chapter with movement, connection, and community.

Join us for New Beginnings, a transformative evening designed to clear the old and make space for the new. This is a conscious, drug-and-alcohol-free celebration where the music is the medicine and the dance floor is your sanctuary.

Whether you are moving through a life transition or simply want to reset your energy, this event offers a safe, vibrant container to express your truest self.

The Journey

  • The Opening: Ceremonial Cacao & Welcome to the space We begin our circle by sipping warm, ceremonial-grade cacao, settling into the space and connecting with your fellow dancers. *(see below for more info on cacao including contra-indications)
  • The Dance: Ecstatic Movement Transition into a guided ecstatic dance journey. We move through a "wave" of music—starting slow and rhythmic, building to a high-energy peak of liberation, and landing back in stillness. No steps to learn, no judgment, and no "right" way to move.
  • Sound Bath Integration: As the dance concludes, you will be invited to find stillness. We will transition into a soothing sound bath featuring the Earthy tones of the didgeridoo and the hand pan to integrate the energy of the practice and lead you into deep relaxation.
  • The Closing: Tea, Cake & Connection We ground our experience with a soft landing. Enjoy a selection of herbal teas and delicious cakes as we open the space for social time. This is a beautiful opportunity to share your experience, meet like-minded people, and build community.

Important Information

  • Conscious Space: This is a strictly drug and alcohol-free event to ensure a safe and authentic experience for all.
  • What to Wear: Comfortable clothes you can sweat and move in. Layers are recommended.
  • What to Bring: Water, a cushion to sit on if needed and a blanket for the relaxation
  • Footwear: We dance barefoot or in grip socks to stay grounded to the earth.

*The Spirit of Cacao: Benefits & Safety

At our dances, we share ceremonial-grade cacao—a plant medicine used for centuries to open the heart and connect with the soul.

The Benefits

  • Heart Opening: Cacao contains theobromine, which increases blood flow to the heart and encourages a sense of openness, empathy, and emotional release.
  • Natural Mood Elevator: It stimulates the production of "feel-good" chemicals like dopamine, serotonin, and anandamide (often called the "bliss molecule").
  • Nutrient Dense: It is one of the highest plant-based sources of magnesium (the "relaxation mineral"), iron, and antioxidants.
  • Grounding Energy: Unlike the jittery spike of coffee, cacao provides a gentle, sustained energy that helps you stay present during dance and sound healing.

Contraindications and Precautions

While cacao is generally safe, its stimulating effects mean it isn't for everyone. Please be mindful of the following:

  • Antidepressants (SSRIs/MAOIs): Cacao contains tryptophan and tyramine. When combined with some antidepressants, it can occasionally cause headaches or, in rare cases, serotonin syndrome.
  • Heart Conditions: Because cacao increases heart rate and acts as a vasodilator, please consult your doctor if you have a serious heart condition or very high blood pressure.
  • Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Not recommended inPregnancy or whilst breast feeding.

A Note on Choice: Being Part of the Circle

Whether you choose to sip the cacao or simply sit with us in the circle, you will fully receive the magic of the event. The "medicine" can come from collective energy and intentions just as much about the cacao itself.
