Heritage Network(formerly Heritage Trust Network) is the UK membership body for not-for-profit organisations that are rescuing, restoring and managing historic buildings, structures and spaces. Our members have delivered successful heritage projects against all odds. We operate throughout the United Kingdom, drawing together and supporting the work of local heritage charities, community organisations and social enterprises.We provide an invaluable platform for members for knowledge sharing, peer-to-peer support and skills development. Our guidance helps groups throughout the lifetime of their project, from startup to managing their restored site.  The Heritage Network also gives this extraordinary grassroots movement a united voice, representing their views to government and funding bodies.

An event on how best to tackle environmental sustainability in our projects

At this event, we will hear from Tom Jeffries who has researched Decarbonising Heritage (architecture and places) and building reuse with Queen's University Belfast. Tom will provide up-to-date facts and figures on how reusing buildings is better for the environment than new builds.We are also very pleased to be joined by Mark Hackett from Hackett Architects who have a wealth of experience working on culturally significant buildings and will provide us with tips and tricks on how to make our old buildings more environmentally friendly while maintaining their character and following relevant guidelines. The event will finish will an Q&A with our speakers and the opportunity to speak to fellow Heritage Trust Members to share your own experiences or troubleshoot any problems you may be facing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Venue: This is an online event using the Zoom platform and joining details will be sent to you at various intervals ahead of the eventTickets: Free for Heritage Trust Network members , £5 for non-membersAccessibility: Live subtitles will be available on the day, delivered through Otter.ai.
