Join us for your chance to shape something that could play a lasting role in Sayers Common life – a community business in the old Chapel.
All residents of Sayers Common are warmly invited to join us for a Community Engagement Workshop on Tuesday 14th April 2026.
Who are we?
Plunkett UK are the national charity supporting community-owned businesses across the UK.
What's the workshop about?
We are bringing residents of Sayers Common and the local area together, alongside local partners and stakeholders, to explore the possibility of the creation of a new community-owned business in the old chapel, located within the proposed housing development at LVS Hassocks.
This is your chance to shape something that could play a lasting role in local life. By taking part in the workshop, you can influence what the space becomes and help ensure the chapel becomes a place that serves both current and future residents.
Through friendly, interactive activities, you will explore what matters most to the community, identify shared priorities, and contribute to a vision that reflects local needs, values and aspirations.
What to Expect
During this interactive 2-hour workshop, you’ll take part in a mixture of activities and group discussions that will help shape a shared vision for a thriving community space. Together, we will:
- Identify local needs and opportunities
- Explore the potential benefits and impact a community-owned business could bring to both new and existing residents
- Co-design a vision for how this space could support the future of Sayers Common
This is a collaborative, friendly session with space for everyone’s voice.
Where is it?
Sayers Common Village Hall, London Road, Sayers Common, West Sussex, BN6 9HX
What time is it?
The workshop will be repeated twice on April 14th 2026, to allow a variety of residents to attend. Please only select one of the following sessions when booking:

- 6:30 – 8:30 pm
Who Should Attend?
