Our <strong><strong>Immersive Dome Experience</strong></strong> is the perfect way to spark curiosity, build contextual knowledge, and inspire creative writing — or simply deliver a big slice of <em><em>wow</em></em>!</p><p>Ideal for <strong><strong>schools and youth groups</strong></strong> of all ages — from Early Years and Primary to Secondary, Brownies, Guides, and Scouts — this one-hour session includes up to <strong><strong>45 minutes of stunning content</strong></strong> chosen from our curated selection of films.</p><h4><strong><strong>Important Information</strong></strong></h4><ul><li><strong><strong>Who can book?</strong></strong> Schools, educational institutions, and community groups working with young people under 18.</li><li><strong><strong>Group size:</strong></strong> Minimum booking of <strong><strong>15 places</strong></strong>, maximum <strong><strong>70 people</strong></strong> in the dome.</li><li><strong><strong>Cost:</strong></strong> £5.00 per pupil. <h3>ARCTIC: Our Frozen Planet</h3><p>At the very top of the globe, lies a spectacular, frozen realm. But don’t be fooled by appearances…this place is not frozen in time. It’s a dynamic ecosystem and for thousands of years, its indigenous people and wildlife have found ways to survive and live in harmony with these extremes.</p><p>Embark on a yearlong adventure across the seasons and three continents. Be immersed in the astounding world of narwhals, belugas and polar bears as they navigate ice floes. Hear the thunderous sound of stampeding caribou and muskox trying to escape hungry wolves. Be amazed by hooded seals that blow up red balloons and ice-covered bumblebees that emerge glorious from their winter lairs.</p><p>As the planet’s climate is experiencing rapid changes, so is the Arctic. But the changes here are happening faster and more dramatically than anywhere else. Can it keep pace? <h3>Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure</h3><p>Get a view of the fascinating universe of insects magnified up to 250,000 times their normal size in Bugs! A Rainforest Adventure.</p><p>Become immersed in a miniature world, where a leaf weighs as much as a car and a single raindrop can quench the largest thirst.</p><p>Highlighting the extraordinary world of insects, Bugs! focuses on the life cycles of a praying mantis and a butterfly from their birth to their inevitable encounter in the tropical rainforest of Southeast Asia, where predator meets prey.</p><p>Running time: 40 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2, 3 and 4</p>

<h3>Experience the Sound</h3><p>For more than 100 years, from the early days of black and white silent film to sound, colour and now 360 degrees, moving images have recorded Plymouth’s relationship with the ocean.</p><p>With support from the British Film Institute Audience Fund and National Lottery, Real Ideas and The Box have partnered to re-imagine rarely seen moving image and paper materials from the South West Film and Television Archive into a stunning fulldome film that explores Plymouth’s strong connection to The Sound.</p><p>There will be event photography taking place and an opportunity to give feedback after you've seen the film. Everyone is welcome to attend however the film may be more suited to adults.</p><p>This project is supported by the BFI Audience Fund awarding funds from the National Lottery.</p><p>Running time: 35 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 4 and 5</p>

<h3>Legend of the Enchanted Reef</h3><p>The clumsy and energetic reef fish Shorty, his smart sister Indigo and Jake, a daring sawfish, live in a colourful coral reef. When an enormous trawl devastates their reef, the three friends have no choice but to set out on an adventurous journey to find a new home. Full of humour and imagination, Legend of the Enchanted Reef raises awareness for the acuteness of marine conservation.</p><p>Running time: 43 minutes; Fiction; Key Stage 1 and 2</p>

<h3>World 2 War</h3><p>An action packed fulldome documentary that combines cinematic battle scenes with informative overviews of the battlefield and historic reference from photos and videos. <h3>Astronaut</h3><p>The exploration of space is the greatest endeavour that humankind has ever undertaken. What does it take to be part of this incredible journey? What does it take to become an astronaut?</p><p>Experience a rocket launch from inside the body of an astronaut. Explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space, from floating around the International Space Station to maneuvering through microscopic regions of the human body.</p><p>Discover the perils that lurk in space as we subject ‘Chad’, our test astronaut, to everything that space has to throw at him.</p><p>Produced by NSC Creative and distributed by Global Immersion</p><p>Running time 23 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 1, 2 and 3</p>

<h3>Back To The Moon For Good</h3><p>The show opens with the first era of space exploration in the late 1960s and early 1970s. We see what that era of landers and orbiters taught us about our nearest neighbour including the discovery of the Moon’s origin, composition, structure and the accessibility of raw materials on its surface.</p><p>The Google Lunar XPRIZE is designed to democratize space and create new opportunities for eventual human and robotic presence on the Moon. We see the engineering and innovation steps taken by the internationally distributed teams competing to land a spacecraft on the Moon. We highlight the human spirit of competition and collaboration as teams take on this audacious challenge. Who will win the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE? <h3>BIG</h3><p>If we could travel as far as we can see in space, what might we find? BIG has been produced to tackle the question and does so by taking the audience on an immersive journey to the far reaches of the universe that we are currently able to observe. Along the way, the audience is introduced to the concept of the speed of light, and they meet a huge range of objects to spark their imagination.</p><p>Running time: 23 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2 and 3</p>

<h3>Capcom Go! The Apollo Story</h3><p>An immersive, historical documentary that showcases the achievements of the Apollo program and what it took to put the first human on the Moon.</p><p>It introduces a new generation to the immense challenges they overcame and will inspire them to become the explorers, designers, engineers, thinkers and dreamers of the future.</p><p>Running time: 26 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2 and 3</p>

<h3>CELL! CELL! CELL!</h3><p>This is the story of the trillions of cells that form our bodies, from our beginnings as a single cell to the complexity of a whole body: it’s the story of who we are.</p><p>The film was produced by INTECH Science Centre &amp; Planetarium, NSC Creative and funded by the Wellcome Trust.</p><p>Running time: 24 mins; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 1 and 2</p>

<h3>Colour Your Senses (Sensory)</h3><p>Colour Your Senses is a journey of swirling particles that collide, overlap and disperse, enveloping the dome in glittering lights.</p><p>Combined with custom-created spatial audio, the experience begins with colourful flecks of light that gently grow and evolve into a beautiful bioluminescent symphony which then calmly wind down to a tranquil ending.</p><p>Running time: 26 minutes; Sensory; Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2</p>

<h3>F ollow The Water (Sensory)</h3><p>Follow The Water created by Sound View Media in Plymouth, is a 'real world' 360-degree video experience - with natural sounds and no voice-over or music. It has been designed to make the very most of the dome, with no distinct 'front', so prepare to look around!</p><p>The experience is comprised of 4 chapters: Falling Water, Running Water, On The Water, By the Water.</p><p>Falling Water: Beginning on the top of a mountain, experience water falling from the sky. Experience the sounds of thunder, rain and wind before being transported to a stunning waterfall.</p><p>Running Water: Featuring rivers, streams and a journey of water towards the ocean. Experience water moving at different paces before being immersed in the sound of the water flow and the natural environment surrounding you.</p><p>On The Water: How do humans interact with water? A mixture of fast and slow movements enable you to experience activities on the water, including paddle boarding, gig rowing, canoeing and a horse-drawn barge.</p><p>By The Water: Experience the joy of the seaside, from the comfort of the dome. With a bright sun above you and a vast open space surrounding you. Explore the depths of a rockpool with brightly coloured seaweed, and hear the wind and the waves in the background.</p><p>This show is great for showing the water cycle in real life, and for giving those who may not be able to take part in water activities, such as paddle-boarding, the chance to experience it in 360.</p><p>Running Time: 25 minutes; Non-fiction, Sensory; Key Stage 1, 2 and 3 (SEN)</p>

<h3>Forward! To The Moon</h3><p>Kari Byron from Crash Test World and MythBusters launches us on a journey beyond the Earth towards a sustainable future in space. NASA’s 21st century Artemis program is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of colour on the surface of the Moon.</p><p>Produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with TEND Studio with funding from NASA SSERVI and Lockheed Martin.</p><p>Running time: 30 mins; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2 and 3</p>

<h3>Into the Fruit Bowl (Sensory)</h3><p>Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be in the centre of a watermelon, an orange, or a lemon?</p><p>Into the Fruit Bowl is a fun, playful, explosion of fruit and colour, created by Immersive-Me. Watch as fruits fall, dance, and drop around you, before splatting onto the top of the dome, enveloping you inside the fruit!</p><p>This film was created as part of a co-production with pupils, parents/carers and teachers from Cann Bridge School and Woodlands School. <h3>Mars</h3><p>What happened to Mars? What happened to the water? Was there once life? Could there still be life somewhere?</p><p>Featuring spectacular high-definition 3D graphics, the awe-inspiring history of the planet unfolds to the space age and the dusty, cratered world we know today.</p><p>Narrated by Miriam Margolyes</p><p>Running time: 25 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2 and 3</p>

<h3>Rainbow Aurora (Sensory)</h3><p>Created by artist Simon Le Boggit, Rainbow Aurora is a celebration of colour and sound. Feel yourself relax as you watch strips of light dancing around the dome, with sounds that follow their gentle movement. Take a break from the fast-paced nature of everyday life, and enjoy the simplicity and beauty of this audio-visual experience.</p><p>This film was created as part of a co-production with pupils, parents/carers and teachers from Cann Bridge School and Woodlands School. <h3>S.E.T.I</h3><p>The prospect that we may not be alone in the universe is taken as a fact by the movies, writers and a great many scientists.</p><p>As yet, we have no hard evidence of another living thing outside Planet Earth.</p><p>S.E.T.I. – The Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence explores all sides of this topic, from the planets we are finding around other stars, to the feasibility of travelling to these stars.</p><p>Will we make contact in our lifetimes?</p><p>Narrated by Hugh Laurie</p><p>Running time: 25 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 2</p>

<h3>We Are Aliens!</h3><p>Earth. It’s now a small world. <h3>We Are Stars</h3><p>We Are Stars is an immersive science documentary. This 360° cross-platform experience will seek to answer some of the biggest questions of all time. What are we made of? Where did it all come from? <h3>The Great Solar System Adventure</h3><p>Join showman extraordinaire “The Great Schiaparelli” as he takes the audience on a death-defying space-time adventure within his wondrous Observatorium.</p><p>From the sun-scorched surface of Mercury to the icy expanses of Pluto and beyond, prepare to be subjected to the myriad dangers and wonders of our Solar System, on a breathtaking tour that reveals just how precious our home planet really is.</p><p>Be warned though, the Observatorium isn’t just for show. It will transport the audience right to the heart of some of the deadliest locations in our slice of the heavens. <h3>Astronaut George</h3><p>Astronaut George is a perfect introduction to the planets in our Solar System for pre-school kids. During this full dome show George investigates the best planet to live on and the dangers lurking on the surface of other planets in our Solar System. <h3>Antarctica: Ocean Exploration Uncovered</h3><p>In Antarctica’s most isolated seas, an international team of scientists deploy underwater robots to map hidden volcanoes on the ocean floor. Their mission: to explore uncharted depths and uncover submarine geohazards that could unleash tsunamis across the globe. Despite covering over 70% of our planet, less than a quarter of the seafloor has been mapped and we know far more about the surfaces of Mars and the Moon than our own oceans. Join Plymouth accociate professor in ocean exploration Dr Jenny Gales on this gripping expedition that plunges you into a world of icebergs, hurricane-force winds, towering waves, and erupting volcanoes —all captured in 360° immersion—revealing astonishing discoveries hidden beneath the waves.</p><p>Funded by the Schmidt Ocean Institute, the University of Plymouth, and the University of Plymouth Explore Award and supported by Real Ideas.</p><p>Running time: 22 minutes</p>

<h3>Biosphere</h3><p>A day in the life of a year on the planet.</p><p>Stunning 360 computer animated visuals and amazing ambisonic audio combine for a relaxing immersive experience.</p><p>Running time: 9 minutes; Sensory; Early Years, Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4</p>

<h3>Devonport: A Tide of Memories</h3><p>This 360 immersive experience invites you to explore the rich history of Devonport, focusing on three iconic landmarks: Market Hall and its Clock Tower, Devonport Column, and Devonport Guildhall. Using a blend of game development tools, 360 drone footage, immersive audio and traditional film techniques, the documentary chronicles Devonport’s formation, evolution, and the challenges it has faced over the years.</p><p>Key moments include its integration into Plymouth, the devastating impact of WWII, and ongoing regeneration efforts in the 21st century. Featuring contributions from students at City College Plymouth to musicians and filmmakers, the film is produced by Five29, merging innovative technology with compelling storytelling to offer an engaging look into Devonport’s past and future.</p><p>Running time: 19 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 3, 3, 4 and 5</p>

<h3>Out of the Toybox (Sensory)</h3><p>Blocks, numbers, and letters tumble and fall from a huge open toybox!</p><p>An experience to encourage creativity.</p><p>Running time: 20 minutes; Sensory; Early Years</p>

<h3>Terrific Travels (Sensory)</h3><p>Step into a storybook from the comfort of a beanbag.</p><p>Experience trainspotting in a wild forest, venture into the city with cars and planes, before heading to the stars. Finally, dive underneath the sea with submarines swirling around.</p><p>Running time: 17 minutes; Sensory; Early Years</p>

<h3>Tim Peake’s International Space Station Tour</h3><p>Working together with British Association of Planetaria, NSC Creative has produced a short immersive 360 experience which takes the viewer around the ISS (International Space Centre) to see what it is like to live and work in space. Narrated by British Astronaut Tim Peake who has successfully completed his 6 month Principia mission. We also get to see footage of Tim onboard the ISS specifically for this project.</p><p>The project was supported by the UKSA (UK Space Agency) and ESA (European Space Agency) with additional support from Explorer Dome, Centre for Life and the National Space Centre.</p><p>Running time: 9 minutes; Non-Fiction; Key Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4</p>
