Description

We understand the amount of resource that is required to sustain Schwartz Rounds. Therefore, the in-house training programme is designed to help organisations build up their pool of facilitators. When existing facilitators have accumulated experience and confidence with the Rounds, they can recommend a colleague to enrol in our in-house training programme. The existing facilitator (or clinical lead) will take on an internal mentoring role and the trainee will complete nine e-learning modules to obtain the theoretical knowledge of Rounds.

Eligibility for In-house training:

  • In-house training is only available to organisations that have a licence with The Point of Care Foundation and that has run Rounds for a minimum of a year
  • The trainee must have an experienced Schwartz Round facilitator to act as mentor, who is accredited with The Point of Care Foundation
  • The trainee must have attended a minimum of three Rounds
  • The experienced facilitator will take responsibility for inviting the trainee to take part in a panel preparation session and a debrief session. If possible, the experienced facilitator will also observe the trainee facilitating a Round and provide feedback.
