Scotland's Mental Health First Aid Course
Join our 2-day certified SMHFA course—open to anyone interested in mental health. No experience needed, just a willingness to learn.
We're delighted to invite you to our upcoming Scotland’s Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) training — a two-day, certified course designed for anyone with an interest in mental health and wellbeing. You don’t need to have any previous experience or specialist knowledge - all that’s required is a willingness to learn how to support someone who may be struggling.
Over 12 hours of interactive learning, you’ll explore how to recognise the signs of common mental health issues, how to offer help in a crisis such as a panic attack or suicidal thoughts, and how to listen without judgment so that people feel truly heard. We’ll also look at recovery, the impact of alcohol and drugs on mental health, and ways to connect people with the right professional support.
SMHFA has been rigorously evaluated in Scotland, with participants often reporting that they feel more confident talking about mental health, more comfortable approaching someone in distress, and even improvements in their own wellbeing after the course.
Training details:
📅 Dates: Thursday 29th & Friday 30th January 2026
🕤 Time: 9:30am – 5:00pm (arrive by 9:15am)
📍 Location: Lifelink, Suite 4, Melisa House, 3 Brand Place, Glasgow, G51 1DR

We look forward to welcoming you to what many describe as a life-changing learning experience.
