Scottish Borders Drop-in Session
Explore a career in childminding! One-to-one support, minimum £750 start-up grant and free training available to get started.
If you’d like a new, rewarding career, working with children where you can enjoy flexibility and the freedom to set your own hours, we’d love you to come along to our in-person event and find out more about the support available to help get started as a childminder.
At this drop-in session, you will meet SCMA Workforce Officer, Louise, and will have a chance to ask any questions you may have about becoming a childminder, or gain some advice on your childminding journey.
Through the Programme for Scotland's Childminding Future (PSCF), a fantastic package of support is available including a minimum £750 start-up grant along with training and one-to-one support from the Scottish Childminding Association. This is an exciting time to get started as a childminder!
We welcome those thinking of becoming a childminder, established childminders and those who are in the process of becoming a childminder, to come join us!
Cecile Recio, Supported Childminding Scheme, will also be in attendance to provide support and information to childminders in the area.
We will be offering light refreshments throughout the day: Tea,coffee and biscuits will be available all day alongside some light snacks, sandwiches, fruit and cakes.
