Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief is an Alliance of organisations and individuals working together to raise public awareness of ways of dealing with death, dying and bereavement and promote community involvement in death, dying and bereavement. Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief is an initiative of the Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care, Scottish Charity Number 17979

Good Life, Good Death, Good Grief

This event will launch the new Scottish Compassionate Communities Network.
The  network is for is for people and organisations who want to get involved in practical work to build compassion in their own community, with a particular focus on improving people's experiences of deteriorating health, death, dying and bereavement.
It is hoped that the network will become a way for people to share learning, ideas and inspiration with like-minded people across Scotland. 
Purpose of the event
- To introduce the new Scottish Compassionate Communities Network.
- To give network members a chance to meet each other and make connections.
- To discuss the potential creation of a Scottish Compassionate Communities toolkit, and pull together people's suggestions and ideas of what that might look like and what it should include.  
- To find out more about 'community development' approaches.

In small groups, we’ll address the following questions:
<UL>
<LI>What ‘community’ or ‘communities’ are you particularly interested in?</LI>
<LI>What is it that you want to change within that community?</LI>
<LI>What do you see yourself able to contribute in terms of practical action, either as an individual or an organisation?</LI>
<LI>Who else’s involvement would help you to achieve the changes you’ve identified?</LI>

<H3>11.20am: Refreshments</H3>
 
<H3>11.40pm – 12.20pm – Group Discussion: Compassionate Communities Toolkit </H3>
 
In small groups, we’ll address the question - what should be a in a Compassionate Communities Toolkit?  Including:
<UL>
<LI>What kind of things would you find helpful for your area of interest?</LI>
<LI>Do you know of examples/ ideas that we can learn from that should be included? </LI>
<LI>Do you have any other ideas about what GLGDGG and the Compassionate Communities network should be doing to move this area of work forward?</LI>
</UL>
 
<H3>12.20pm – Closing remarks</H3>
12.30pm  - Lunch
