Description

Scottish EDGE is a competition designed to identify and support Scotland’s up-and-coming, innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent. Since its inception in 2012, Scottish EDGE has had a huge impact on Scotland’s economy, with our alumni having generated an additional £151m in turnover, secured £124m in additional investment, and created 1858 jobs.

Scottish EDGE is made up of three categories:

1. Scottish EDGE, for companies of all sectors and stages offering funding of up to £100,000 on a split grant/loan basis.

Also within Scottish EDGE are four special awards;

  • Higgs EDGE, for engineering, science or technology based businesses - offering an award of up to £150,000 grant/loan split
  • Creative EDGE, for Creative Sector businesses - offering an award of up to £100,000 grant/loan split
  • Social EDGE, for Social Enterprises - offering up to £100,000 grant/loan split
  • Circular Economy EDGE - offering up to £100,000 grant/loan split.

2. Young EDGE, for companies where all directors are under the age of 30 offering a grant only award of up to £15,000

3. Wild Card EDGE, for companies who are pre-trading, again offering a grant only award of up to £15,000.

Applications for Round 15 of the bi-annual competition open on 29th July 2019.

Think you have the EDGE? Then come along to our workshop to find out what makes a strong Scottish EDGE application, what the judging panel look for when assessing your application and how to deliver a 3-minute video presentation.

The workshop is delivered by a member of the Scottish EDGE team and could be the first step in your Scottish EDGE journey to winning £150,000.
