Scottish Working Class Networking Event

Generatoris a Dundee-based organisation established in 1996. The aim of the organisation is to generate vibrant cultures across Dundee through providing sustained support towards artistic practice in all its diversity and a varied programme of exhibitions and events.Alongside the primary aim of being collectively held by those who wish to engage and support the continuation of the organisation, Generator hosts a project and exhibition space better known as Generator Projects. This space was established to allow creative practitioners, developing experimental, critical and/or contemporarily relevant work, the opportunity to exhibit. It is facilitated by the Generator committee, a rolling collective of volunteers, who dedicate two years of their time to ensure the continuation of this programmed space and the broader aspects of the organisation.

The Scottish Working Class Network is hosting their first event outside of Glasgow with Generator Projects on 14th of August 2024 in Dundee.

Wednesday 14th August at Generator Projects between 6.30-8.30.We will have casual networking as well as talks from three local artists. More information to be added soon!You do not have to be Scottish or working class to attend but please note these voices will be prioritised at this event.Please get in touch with any accessibility needs at scottishworkingclassnetwork@gmail.com About SWCNThe SWCN was formed in early 2024 for Scottish Working-Class artists and creatives. On our Instagram profile we have different artists, makers, creatives and performers who will take over the account for a week and share their practices. This gives them the opportunity to get some exposure, make connections and network with curators, galleries and other artists who identify as working-class and Scottish. Our criteria to identify within these two is very open and we want to include people rather than turn them away. It was set up in response to a distinct lack of discussion, support and general opportunities for and about Scottish working-class people within Scotland itself.
