Screen Free Mind: Digital Wellbeing Workshop

Screen Free Mind: Digital Wellbeing Workshop

Orchard Park Community CentreCambridge, England
Thursday, Feb 26 from 7:30 pm to 9 pm GMT
Overview

In-person, small-group workshop on understanding digital habits with compassion.

Many of us feel hooked to our phones — scrolling when we’re tired, distracted when we want to be present, and frustrated with ourselves for not being able to “just disconnect.”

This in-person workshop offers a compassionate space to understand why this happens and to gently explore how we might relate to digital media in ways that align more closely with our values.

This small-group, in-person workshop is for adults who feel conflicted about their relationship with smartphones, social media, and digital technology — especially parents who are trying to model healthier habits for their children.

Together, we will explore:

Why digital platforms are so compelling (and why this is not a personal failure)

How attention, habit, and behavioural design influence our daily lives

How to move away from guilt and towards self-compassion

Gentle reflections on how we might want to spend our time and attention differently

This is not about willpower, rules, or quitting technology altogether.

It’s about understanding, awareness, and choice.

The workshop is intentionally screen-free and held in a calm, supportive environment, with space for reflection and discussion. No prior knowledge required.

This workshop is for adults who:

  • Feel pulled towards their phones even when they don’t want to
  • Are curious about digital wellbeing without self-judgement
  • Want a thoughtful, offline space to reflect
  • Are parents or carers concerned about screen habits

Format: Small group discussion and guided reflection

Duration: 90 minutes

Group size: Limited places

Phones: Kindly switched off during the session
