About the artist – Adam Bridgland
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2006, Adam Bridgland has worked with a wide range of materials and processes to explore distinctively British sentiments with wit and sensitivity. His practice often reflects on nostalgia, memory and the passing of time, drawing on imagery from seaside holidays, backpacking trips, bus tours and everyday ephemera.
Alongside this runs a joyful celebration of visual language inspired by children’s colouring books, paint-by-numbers kits, public transport posters and kitsch postcards. Adam’s work is known for its bold compositions and richly applied primary colours, elevating familiar subjects into emblem-like images that feel both playful and poignant.
