Bell House is a volunteer led charity that provides creative learning for people of all ages and backgrounds. Our vision is to offer an opportunity to gather for learning, enjoyment and friendship in a special place.

Join us at Bell House for this beginners screen-printing workshop

In this hands-on and practical screen-printing workshop at Bell House, printers will draw designs and make paper stencils taking inspiration from your own project ideas or from the images available in the workshop, mostly focusing on bold shapes and patterns. We will print using water-based textile screen printing inks, using transparent and opaque colours to produce layered designs and repeat patterns. By the end of the workshop, printers will have a collection of A5-A3 screen-printed fabric samples.

All materials and equipment will be provided. Printers are welcome to bring their own fabrics from home and an old t-shirt or tote bag to up-cycle and transform through print. If you have time before the workshop, feel free to cut your own A5-A4 paper stencils using old sheets of newspaper. 
This workshop is suitable for anyone, beginners and those with experience. By the end of the three-hour workshop you will have a greater understanding of the process, the equipment and materials needed to print at home.
 About the Group Leader
Nicole Line is an artist and textile tutor based in London, Forest Hill. Nicole studied Textiles at University for the Creative Arts where she is now course leader for the Foundation Fashion and Textiles course. 
Dress for mess and wear old trainers, the screen-printing inks do stain clothing. 
⁃ If you have time, feel free to make your own paper stencils before the workshop, this will give you more time to print during the session. Keep your stencils no larger than A4 and just use paper that you would put in the photocopier, or newspaper! 
⁃ This is an up-cycling screen-printing workshop, please bring your own vests, t-shirts, jumpers, tote bags, tea-towel or even socks from home, avoid buying anything new!
