Welcome to the house that art built.At The Art House, artists and audiences of all kinds are invited to engage with the creative process through a year-round programme of residencies, exhibitions, events, workshops, and professional development opportunities.We manage more than 50 accessible artists studios, hosting a wide variety of artists, makers, and creative businesses. In our building you’ll also find exhibition spaces, on-site accessible accommodation for creatives, a shop, a coffee house, meeting rooms and event spaces for hire.

Whether you’re looking for an introduction to the basics of printmaking or want to try your hand at a new skill, we have a range of workshops and courses to suit you.

Learn the basics of screen printing onto tote bags, t-shirts &amp; textiles on our one day workshop. You’ll design and print your own image and learn how to prepare imagery for screen printing using the photo emulsion method. This is a great introduction to screen printing in our professional print studio. You’ll come away from the workshop with your own screen printed t-shirt or tote bag and some printed fabric pieces.Who is the Workshop for?This workshop is ideal for complete beginners in screen printing. Those who have some previous experience are also welcome to attend to develop and refresh their skills and gain advice from the tutor.TutorEllie Way is a print designer who also works as our Print Technician here at The Art House. She graduated from Leeds College of Art in 2016 and has since set up her own Print Studio which houses her freelance textile design business and brand WAY. Inspired by the spaces around her, Ellie explores decorative compositions with playful colour palettes to create bold printed textiles to be integrated into her customers lifestyles.Follow Ellie’s process on Instagram @ellie_way or take a look at her website https://www.ellieway.co.ukDo I Need to Bring Anything? Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite's booking fee is non-refundable.Bookings cannot be transferred between courses however bookings can be transferred to another person in the event that you are unable to attend on the day.In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness or if lockdown measures are put back in place your ticket will be refunded in full.
