Screen Printing Workshop

Screen Printing Workshop

Sketchy Beats CafeEdinburgh, Mid Lothian
Wednesday, Mar 11 from 7 pm to 9 pm GMT
Overview

Revamp Your Old Clothing with Creativity!

Join me for a hands-on Screen Printing Workshop, where you'll learn how to transform textiles using pre-made designs and/or your own custom paper stencil! This method explores positive and negative space, allowing you to create a one-of-a-kind print.

Create a unique print while learning the basics of stencil making, printing, and heat-setting to make your design washproof.

What to expect

  • Simple stencil-making demo
  • Quick drawing exercises to develop your design
  • 1:1 guided printing (each person prints one design)
  • No experience needed, just bring creativity!

What to bring

  • Light-coloured fabric item (we use black ink)
  • Flat items work best: T-shirts, tote bags, pillowcases, tea towels, fabric pieces

(avoid seams/pockets)

Cotton or polycotton only (no lycra or polyester)

Bring your own garment, let’s upcycle!

Tip:

Printing is done 1:1, with around 10 minutes per person.

If you can, think about your design in advance, text, shape, drawing, or graphic. You

can bring it printed on paper to save time when making your stencil.

About Your Tutor:

I’m Karina, a textile and screen printing artist with a BA (Hons) in Design for Textiles

(Fashion, Interior, Art) from HWU. Over the years, I’ve developed the Live Screen

Printing concept, showcased at events such as Iberodocs Film Festival, Radical

Book Fair, and Sett Studios. I have a studio space at Abbeymount Studios, where I

also run Print Empress, offering custom screen printing services. Visit me at www.karinapasiut.com or @kicikari00

Tickets:

We will have a mixture of £10 and donation-based tickets until we manage to renew our funding. This will allow us to pay our tutors fairly, while still keeping our classes accessible.

All tickets include a free hot drink from the kitchen or BYOB :)
