We areFrontline Club,a social enterprise started in a Paddington warehouse in 2003, originally  a gathering place for conflict journalists, writers and  friends, now boast international members from various related sectors, photographers, artists and captains of industry, all with an interest in current affairs. We run an annual events programme of  current affairs  and deliver important unreported stories of our world, in the form of talks, documentaries, books & screenings, funded by our ground floor public restaurant, membership donations & event ticket sales. Raising our own funds has enabled us to operate and champion independently journalism & freedom of speech.

The Frontline Club in Paddington is a gathering place for journalists, photographers and other likeminded people interested in international affairs we Champion Independent Journalism & Freedom of Speech. Since 2003

The documentary film &#x27;Behind Closed Doors&#x27; looks at Britain’s role in global tax evasion and money laundering including how laundered money finds its way into London properties and how the UK government is failing to crack down on the flow of illicit money. Furthermore, the aim of the film is to show how difficult it is for developing countries to recover their assets and bring back convicted Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) from the UK despite clearly defined UN and Financial Action Task Force&#x27;s (FATF) instructions.The documentary discusses three characters and their financial associations with the UK; Nawaz Sharif (former PM of Pakistan who currently lives in London as an absconder), Ilham Aliyev (President of Azerbaijan) and Uhuru Kenyatta (Ex- President of Kenya). All these individuals have been exposed several times in the past and most recently in the leaked Panama and Pandora Papers. However, in many ways this is the first documentary of its nature where questions will be directed more towards the UK government on their lack of action. <ul><li><a href="https://www.michaeloswald.net" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Michael Oswald</a> – Director/Writer/Producer</li></ul>Michael is a documentary filmmaker, he takes inspiration from investigative documentaries, essay films and surrealist films. His films explore the themes of secrecy and abuse of power, they aim to challenge dogma and encourage thinking. His previous work includes The Man Who Knew Too Much (2020), The Spider’s Web (2017), Princes of the Yen (2014) and 97% Owned (2012). <ul><li>Murtaza Mehdi – Writer/Producer:</li></ul>Murtaza is the co-producer and co-writer of this film. He has a keen interest in studying international politics and especially the role of the global political elite in financial secrecy and corruption.This is a private event hosted at the Frontline Club.
