We areFrontline Club,a social enterprise started in a Paddington warehouse in 2003, originally  a gathering place for conflict journalists, writers and  friends, now boast international members from various related sectors, photographers, artists and captains of industry, all with an interest in current affairs. We run an annual events programme of  current affairs  and deliver important unreported stories of our world, in the form of talks, documentaries, books & screenings, funded by our ground floor public restaurant, membership donations & event ticket sales. Raising our own funds has enabled us to operate and champion independently journalism & freedom of speech.

A real-life political thriller set on January 6, 2025, War Game imagines a nation-wide insurrection in which members of the US military defect to support the losing Presidential candidate, while the winning candidate and his advisors—played by an all-star roster of senior officials from the last five administrations—war games the crisis in the White House situation room. They have 6 hours to save democracy as the country teeters on the brink of civil war.War Game sweeps audiences into an elaborate future-set simulation that dramatically escalates the threat posed by the January 6, 2021 insurrection. The film follows a bipartisan group of US defense, intelligence, and elected policymakers spanning five presidential administrations as they participate in an unscripted role-play exercise. Portraying a fictional President of the United States and his advisors, they confront a political coup backed by rogue members of the US military in the wake of a contested 2024 presidential election.Like actors in a thriller, but with profound real-world stakes, the players have only six hours to save American democracy. The simulation’s outcome hinges on several inflection points, from the government’s capacity to counter the disinformation that’s effectively spread by the insurgent side to the potential invocation of the Insurrection Act (i.e., the “nuclear option”). While the exercise served to stress test our institutions, the film is a critical wake-up call, underscoring the urgent need for bipartisanship in safeguarding American democracy.Post-film Q&A with Tony Gerber and Orlando von Einsiedel.

Tony Gerber is an Emmy and PGA award-winning writer, producer and filmmaker. He has written and directed over a dozen documentaries for National Geographic, shot in some of the most remote and dangerous regions of the world. In 2024, <a href="https://festival.sundance.org/program/film/6569fa68fac9f4522ac0337c" title="https://festival.sundance.org/program/film/6569fa68fac9f4522ac0337c" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">War Game</a> premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The film, co-directed by Gerber and Jesse Moss, follows a bipartisan group of U.S. defense, intelligence, and elected policymakers in an unscripted role-play exercise, in which they confront a political coup — backed by rogue members of the U.S. military — in the wake of a contested presidential election.

Orlando is an Academy Award-winning director and the founder of Grain Media. His work includes Academy Award-winning short documentary THE WHITE HELMETS; Academy Award-nominated feature documentary VIRUNGA; British Independent Film Award-winning feature documentary EVELYN and Academy Award-winning LEARNING TO SKATEBOARD IN A WAR ZONE (IF YOU’RE A GIRL), which he executive produced; EMMY nominated LOST AND FOUND for National Geographic and EMMY nominated CONVERGENCE: COURAGE IN A CRISIS for Netflix. He is currently working on the forthcoming Netflix series HEART OF INVICTUS.
