Script Development Table Read Event

Script Development Table Read Event

Good Shepherd StudiosLondon, England
Sunday, Feb 15 from 2 pm to 4:30 pm GMT
Overview

Join us for the Script Development Table Read Event and help bring stories to life with live feedback!

We’re running an in-person script development table read session at Good Shepherd Studios on Sunday 15th February 2:00pm–4:30pm.

After an initial selection process, we've got our first 3 scripts to refine and work up.

This session will bring together filmmakers for developing the scripts listed below. Writers, actors, directors, producers and production crew will be able to read, discuss and further evolve the following three scripts selected from our initial session. The aim is to get them production ready and begin the crewing up process... as well as drinking copious amounts of tea and coffee (bring your own flasks... it's a Sunday... who knows what's open).

Have a look and see if anything tickles your fancy!

The Scripts

Apocalypse Down

The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse boast an unrivalled 2000-year record for wreaking havoc on mankind. But their recent purple patch - which included the Climate Crises and COVID-19— is rapidly fading to mere folklore.

Lately, armageddish events have started happening without them and the climaxes of catastrophe are proving done and dusted before they even arrive. Someone - or something - is beating them to it.

Original Sin

A mobile rings in the darkness. The Devil turns on a lamp and explains how she evolved to regain her market share in sinners. She activates the Sin Tracker app, destination: London.

Technology and the internet connect seven vignettes which explore the cardinal sins – lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride – with each sinner getting their comeuppance.

The Devil points out how technology captures the essence of people's sinfulness and magnifies it.

She turns off the lamp. Her mobile rings, glows red. The Devil laughs.

Breathe

After years of isolating himself in guilt over his younger brother’s death, a reclusive young manis forced to confront his trauma when an unyielding social worker arrives and asks him to takethe first breath toward living again.
