Roker Beach

Sea Beats aims to explore our local seascape through sharing stories, and making site specific music on the beach. Join us on Roker Beach at 11am on 27th August 2022, where we will explore how we connect with the ocean through rhythm and percussion, storytelling, and music making with traditional instruments and objects found on the beach. Our collaborative music making workshop will explore the musicality of our coastline will be led by Hannabiell Sanders &amp; Yilis Suriel (Ladies of Midnight Blue and Co-founders of Harambee Pasadia). Meeting Point: Outside Adventure Sunderland, Marine Walk, Roker, Sunderland SR6 0PLSupport local businesses at Roker Marina and grab a coffee/refreshments from one of the outlets afterwards! The workshop will be documented through photo, video and sound recording. IMPORTANT: All children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are responsible for their own safety at all times. Meeting Point: Outside Adventure Sunderland, Marine Walk, Roker, Sunderland SR6 0PL. Sea Beats is commissioned by SeaScapes CoLab in collaboration with Harambee Pasadia CIC and Living History North East, and is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
