About this event

This course is for anyone interested in learning to be a little creative in the kitchen with fewer ingredients or learn how to make delicious dishes on a budget. Previous cookery skills would be helpful but not necessary, but having some confidence is useful. This course can also enable people who wish to buddy up with another fellow course attendee which can help with confidence.

Topics Covered:

5 week course examples of creating healthy dishes that can be used with some store cupboard ingredients and some fresh ingredients. Variations can be used depending on seasonal foods

Week 1; Quinoa Salad with spinach, tomatoes & spring onions / tomato & chilli salsa with garlic & parsley

  • Week 2; Creamy mushroom bruschetta on homemade flat bread / coconut chocolate bars
  • Week 3; slow roasted herby tomatoes, spinach & lemon baked polenta, energy balls

Week 4; Sweets week chocolates with dried fruit and ganache, chocolate cake with orange (vegan)

  • Week 5; home-made baked beans, cauliflower rice with peas and basil

A statement of skills acquired will be able to cook with confidence easy yet delicious recipes that can be made in less than one hour and use variations depending on what you have in your fridge or what is seasonal.

Special requirements

Knife skills, basic food hygiene, being aware of hot dishes in kitchen and being mindful of others in kitchen.
