Saturday, July 18  •  12 PM - 6 PM
Overview

Join Cornwall Wildlife Trust and seaweed expert, Esther Hughes for a day full of tips and tricks to identify Cornish seaweeds.

Do you want to know your kelps from your wracks or what exactly is that fuzzy red seaweed when you're out rockpooling or snorkelling?

Then this is the workshop for you!

Cornwall Wildlife Trust's Your Shore Network has invited seaweed expert Esther Hughes from Natural England to deliver an advanced seaweed ID course for rockpool, snorkel and dive enthusiasts.

This day is ideal for Your Shore network associated group members to learn more about the species they may find during their Shoresearch and Seasearch surveys as well as Rockpool Rambles.

Where? Gerrans Memorial Parish Hall, Portscatho, TR2 5EE

When? Saturday 18th July - 12-6pm

Who? We encourage Your Shore group members, Shoresearch and Seasearch volunteers to attend this session.

How much? £10 per person or FREE for Your Shore group members*

*please contact your local group for the PROMO CODE to obtain your discount.

The workshop will include classroom sessions looking at identification information and use of microscopes to take a closer look at seaweed specimens.

There will also be a practical session on Porthcurnick Beach where you'll be able to put your new skills to the test.

Please note we will be walking to the beach from the parish hall. If you are unable to walk there, please let us know in advanced so we can arrange transport to the beach for you.

Please note that during the practical session, the terrain will be uneven and slippery. If you have any accessibility needs but would still like to attend, contact katie.bellman@cornwallwildlifetrust.org.uk to discuss how we can accomodate you.
