Secret Staircase runs throughout the Frome Festival (2-11 July 2021), appearing several times a day in different locations. Search by location, date and time to find one or more slots to suit you.

Book your ticket and you will receive directions to one of five Frome staircases. All are within easy walking distance of the centre of town. Secret Staircase can be experienced from an accessible ground floor position or in some cases on the staircase itself. Some of the locations are public and some private. You may find yourself alone or sharing the experience with others.

Children aged 2 years and over will require tickets. And children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Our aim is to surprise you, to enthral you with sound that moves around and up and down in a vertical space. You may find yourself in familiar territory or perhaps somewhere you have not been before.

Secret Staircase is a sound installation by Helen Ottaway, created in collaboration with musician Nick Sorensen and visual artist David Daniels.

Numbers are limited due to Covid restrictions. Masks should be worn at indoor sites.
