Seed Saving Workshop

Powys Transition and Low Carbon Community Network (PTLCC)is an organisation  which connects and supports PowysTransition Initiatives and other groups working towards a low carbon future.  We provide training to member groups, organise conferences, and provide a point of contact for diverse groups working to build a community based sustainable future.We are supported in these aims by PAVO and the Big Lottery fund,and the Transition Network and are delivering a project called “Resilient Communities” as part of PAVO’s One Powys Connecting Voices portfolio. Powys Transition and Low Carbon Communities network

Learn how to save your own seeds with the expert!   Sue Stickland (of Garden Organic and Cultivate) will teach us all we need to know about saving seeds as we enter the season of mists and mellow fruitfullness...
Sue is an experienced organic gardener, author of Back Garden Seed Saving: Keeping Our Vegetable Heritage Alive, journalist and lecturer.  
Sue has a packed morning planned for you comprising  illustrated talks....... Why save seeds...........What seeds are easy to save and why?  (time, space, cross-pollination, what else).............. Seed saving tips............... When is seed ready to harvest?   and a demonstration of cleaning, drying and storing seed, finishing with a session of cleaning seeds yourself to take home with you.
Please note, Sue will start at 10:00 sharp, so please arrive around 9:45 for introductions to Ashfield, people, and the course.
