We are excited to present the updated edition of Carlos's book, Fundraising Field Guide, which outlines the fundraising process from the first pitch to Series A and beyond. The Seedcamp team will share invaluable insights on navigating the complex world of fundraising for early-stage startups.

Carlos Espinal

Carlos is Managing Partner at Seedcamp, the leading European seed fund launched in 2007 with a belief that European entrepreneurs have the power to compete on a global scale. With investments in over 500 companies including publicly listed Romanian-founded, UiPath, Wise (formerly TransferWise), and unicorns Revolut, wefox, Pleo, Sorare, Grover, viz.ai, and Synthesia. Carlos is experienced in identifying and supporting founders from the earliest stage and helping them to create the breakout businesses of tomorrow. Carlos is a published author, podcaster and made it onto Forbes Midas List as one of the most influential VCs in Europe in 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021. Carlos was awarded an MBE for services to the British Technology Entrepreneurship Ecosystem in 2021.


Tom Wilson

Tom is Partner at Seedcamp, the leading European seed fund launched in 2007 with a belief that European entrepreneurs have the power to compete on a global scale. Seedcamp has invested in over 500 companies including publicly listed Romanian-founded, UiPath, Wise (formerly TransferWise) and unicorns Revolut, wefox, Pleo, Sorare, Grover, [viz.ai](http://viz.ai/), and Synthesia.

Tom joined in 2014 following an early career in law at SJ Berwin in London where he specialised in investment funds and corporate M&A in the private equity and venture capital sector. Tom graduated with a first-class honours in Economics from the University of York before attending law school in London.

Tom has worked with companies across a broad spectrum of sectors during his almost 10 years at Seedcamp and is passionate about finding relentlessly driven founders solving hard problems and supporting them on their journey to product-market fit. He has a particular interest in working in sectors that touch regulated areas and this has led to him regularly partnering with founders across Healthcare, Fintech and Legaltech. Additionally, Tom has more recently been building out our investment thesis around TechBio and sees huge opportunities at the intersection of technology and life science.
