Self-assessing research data management and FAIR-enabling capabilities
Join this workshop to learn how to self-assess your organisations’ capabilities to support RDM and the production and reuse of FAIR data.
Tickets sales will open early May.
Research performing organisations (RPOs) can play a critical role in enabling the researchers they employ to adhere with good research data management practices (RDM) and to ensure that the outputs they produce are FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable). RPOs’ ability to support researchers in these areas depends on the availability of hard and soft infrastructures as well as policies and joined up workflows. But, how do you know if your organisation is providing the right environment?
This half day workshop will introduce participants to the concept of self-assessment of their organisations’ capabilities to support RDM and the production and reuse of FAIR data. The workshop will introduce two methodologies that can be used to carry out self assessments: the Digital Curation Centre’s Research Infrastructure Self Evaluation Framework (RISE) and the Assessing capability maturity and engagement with FAIR-enabling practice (ACME-FAIR) rubrics developed through the FAIRsFAIR project. The workshop will provide participants with practical advice on implementing a self-assessment effectively, interpreting the results, and planning for improvement.
