This session covers types of dementia, common challenges, SDS Options 1–4, and how to give empowering advice that supports choice, independence, and future planning.
Join our learining session delivered by Alzheimer Scotland to learn how Self-directed Support (SDS) can help people living with dementia and their care partners.
By the end of this learning session, the participant will be able to:
- Understand what self-directed support (SDS) is and how it can help people living with dementia and their care partners.
- Recognise different types of dementia and the common challenges people living with dementia and their care partners may face.
- Describe extra barriers that might make it harder for people living with dementia and their care partners to access or manage SDS.
- Feel confident giving advice that supports choice, independence, and control, helping people living with dementia and their care partners make decisions about SDS.
Time
The session will take place online through Teams from 9:30am until 1:00pm.
Tickets
SDS Scotland members will be able to access discounted tickets, with non-members also being able to purchase tickets for this event.
Places are limited to just 15 participants to allow space for discussion, and we anticipate this training to be popular, so don't miss out!
