About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Filming a self tape for an audition can be tricky. More often than not a full body slate is required to go with the self tape. To create one, artists need equiptment and a large blank background. This session will help participants build a library of self tape slates that can be used for future auditions.

**Please bring a range of outfits and looks to build a varied library of slates.

Frequently asked questions

What is a SLATE?

When auditioning for certain creative projects, artists are asked to create a self tape. They film themselves doing what is required for the audition. Sometimes a slate is needed as well. For this, the artist films themselves saying their name and details required by the production e.g their height.

What is a FULL BODY SLATE

An artist is required to get a full body shot of themselves for some audition tapes. The difficulty with this is that a large blank background is required, along with filming equipment. These things are not always to hand when we need them. Having a library of slates will help with future auditions.
