Overview

"Excellent course! Massively informative and full to the brim of information, tips and tricks to run a Lego therapy block!"

Welcome to Lego-based Therapy Training

Lego-based Therapy is a dynamic, play-based intervention that leverages the creativity and engagement of Lego building to support children with social communication challenges. Developed initially for autistic children, it focuses on enhancing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills through structured group play.

During a typical session, children assume specific roles - such as builder, supplier, or architect - fostering teamwork and turn-taking. As they work together to build models, children practice essential social skills like taking turns, active listening, and problem-solving, all within a fun and motivating context.

Our Lego-based Therapy Training offers a comprehensive approach to implementing this innovative intervention.

Learning Objectives:

  • What is Lego Therapy and why is it an effective intervention for social and emotional development?
  • What research backs this up?
  • Looking at the Learning Pyramid, what considerations are there when running this intervention?
  • What assessments could we use as a baseline score? #sdq #rosenburg
  • What assessments could be used in-sessions to monitor progress?
  • What would the starter, main, and plenary look like?
  • What resources are needed and what do they look like?
  • SEMH student case study examples

📦 What’s Included

  • Structured session plans and visuals for immediate use
