Sensory Processing

DS Achieve is a registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation formed by parents of children with Down Syndrome.  We empower the families of children and young people with Down Syndrome to enable them fulfil their potential, whatever that may be - and it will be different for every child or young person.Potential may be centred on education, social inclusion, sporting achievement, personal happiness, good health and wellbeing, or other personal family goals.  All families' goals are different and our aim is to support those goals in whatever way we can, while having fun and making new friends along the way!

DS Achieve

We are delighted to host Claire Ginty, Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist at Achieve OT, on 14th July to deliver a training day on Sensory Processing on behalf of DS Achieve.
This course is for parents and/or carers of children or young people with a condition involving sensory processing issues.
The course content is as follows:

 What exactly is Occupational Therapy?

 What is sensory processing?
</LI>
<LI>
 Sensory Processing challenges
</LI>
<LI>
 The impact upon: 1) gross motor skills, 2) fine motor skills, 3) daily living skills, 4) visual motor and perceptual skills, and 5) concentration, attention and learning. 
</LI>
<LI>
 Experience the challenges for yourself
</LI>
<LI>
 How to support your child
</LI>
</UL>
When:  Sunday 14th July 2019, 10am—2:30pm (registration from 9:45am)
Where: TRACKS House, Boulton Road, Stevenage, SG1 4QX
Cost: £35 per place
Note: Please bring your own lunch.  Refreshments will be provided.
