About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us for a calming and mindful sensory walk in Stockwood Open Space, Bristol.

We'll meet outside the entrance at the bottom of Stockwood Road for 10.30am

Sensory walks are a brilliant way to connect with nature, to slow down and notice your surroundings. They have a positive effect on mental health and wellbeing and people report feeling calmer and more relaxed following them.

The walk is slow paced and both accessible and inclusive, designed to ensure it’s as accessible for disabled and carers, as for any other members of the public wishing to discover nature through their senses.

Please wear weather appropriate clothes (including wet weather clothing)and sturdy shoes. Feel free to bring some refreshments for a break half way through.

Unless the weather is very poor eg heavy rain, snow or thunder and lightening, the walk will go ahead. Should we need to cancel this walk for any of these reasons, we will aim to let you know by 5pm on Wednesday 15th May.

Accessibility: Most of this course is on a concrete path through the reserve but we will wander off to the orchard which is a short distance off the path and is on a footpath. There is a gate at the entrance to the reserve which is accessible to some but not all wheelchairs. We will bring a key to the locked gate which opens onto a track leading to the reserve.
