ASSAP is a scientifically-orientated educational and research charity and learned society dedicated to reaching a better understanding of anomalous phenomena. Our events are great. Attend them.

Seriously Strange is going to be a great, fun weekend. 18 of the top speakers in the field today have come together to discuss everything from ghosts to vampires, poltergeist to UFOs.
 
We have a great variety of academic speakers and lay researchers. A blend of accessible talks and more serious talks. We also have the Paranormal Olympics, a fun series of experiments to take part in or watch.
 
See the top experts debating anomalous phenomena. The audience will have a chance to get involved in these debates too.  Give your opinion on the burning questions of the day, or just sit back and watch the debate unfold around you. 
 
We wrap up the Saturday session with the Gala Dinner and with special guest speaker Stephen Volk.
Stephen Volk is probably best known as the BAFTA-winning writer of ITV's paranormal drama series Afterlife starring Lesley Sharp and Andrew Lincoln, and the notorious (some say legendary) BBCTV "Halloween hoax" Ghostwatch, which spooked the nation, hit the headlines, and caused questions to be raised in Parliament. His science fiction screenplay Extrasensory has just been announced as going into production in October 2017, starring Toby Kebbell. Recently he adapted Phil Rickman's novel Midwinter of the Spirit as a 3-part miniseries for ITV, starring Anna Maxwell Martin and David Thelfall, and co-scripted 2011's feature film The Awakening, a period ghost story starring Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton. His play The Chapel of Unrest premiered exclusively at The Bush Theatre, London, starring Jim Broadbent and Reece Shearsmith while his short story collection Monsters in the Heart won the British Fantasy Award for Best Collection in 2014, his story "Newspaper Heart" winning Best Novella in 2015

Accommodation 
 
You can stay at The University of Bath on the 8th and 9th September, it is £40 a night per single room including clean towels and Breakfast, its not on-suite, but the accommdation are small apartments. There are two toilets and two showers in the apartment. These rooms are very limited, so i advise if you require a room you book asap. This is the best priced accommodation you will find in Bath.
