Open Innovations (previously ODILeeds)

Thursday 2 November ODI Leeds, 3rd Floor, Munro House
The ODI is currently undertaking research looking at a) how public services have used open data and b) what current learning materials there are for public sector organisations that support them to use open data to design services. They will use this research to help create appropriate learning materials in this area and will publish a report on the findings.
In collaboration with ODI HQ, we will be delivering a workshop focused on user needs and persona development with a view to creating learning material for future use in other organisations/local authorities.
Specifically, we will look at the attendees' own experience of open data and service design (how they use it, how did they learn to use it, how have they taught others to use it, etc).
If using open data within your organisation has been a steep learning curve or a struggle uphill, here is a chance to help make resources that will make it much easier in the future. This could not only encourage new organisations to embrace open data but also make it easier for other parts of the same organisation to feel confident in their use of open data. 
 
Agenda:
9:30-10:00 - Arrive, grab a tea/coffee
10:00-12:30 - Review the research so far, lead by ODI HQ; Persona Development 
12:30-13:30 - LUNCH
13:30-15:30 - User Needs Development
15:30-16:00 - Wrap up and close
