Croydon Voluntary Action

This workshop for anyone who is setting up a community group, charity or social enterprise

If you have a brilliant idea yet need help to turn into a great project, come on this interactive workshop. This session will also cover legal structures, leadership risks, raising funds, and writing budgets. It is particularly helpful if you need to <ul><li>work through your project ideas</li><li> think about what type of organisation you want to be</li><li>want time to reflect on who will control/decide things. </li></ul>You can come as an individual, new group, or as a community group running for a while who wants a refresher. Real life examples will be used in group work. This three-hour workshop (with a 15 minute break in the middle) provides plenty of time for chat questions.If you would like particular topics to be covered in more depth( e.g. HMRC issues, safeguarding, widening legal objects, or other) please let us know when you book the event. WHO IS RUNNING THIS WORKSHOP: This session is delivered online by Claudia Demuth. As an experienced coach and trainer, Claudia helps not for profits to set up, effectively deliver, and carefully reflect on income generation/business planning approaches. During the last 20 years, Claudia has supported a wide range of charities, social enterprises and partnerships to raise funds from sources such as the National Lottery, ESF Europe or large corporates as well as acting as a critical eye for those wanting to set up great new projects. A long-standing associate for umbrella bodies such as the Law Centre Network and the School for Social Entrepreneurs, she uses expert coaching and action learning techniques to encourage people to think outside of the box. Clients really value Claudia’s ability to quickly identify organisational stumbling blocks and ask hard questions which help challenge long-held assumptions. She brings humour, empathy and patience to this sometimes painful process! With much experience in funding panels, commissioning processes, business planning and project management, she prefers to keep things as simple as possible. She enjoys helping people to discover ‘light-bulb’ momentsPlease note: You will receive your Zoom invitation with log-in details a few days prior to 12 November. 
HOW BOOKINGS ARE MANAGED 

We are offering up to 30 free places for those working with Croydon residents. With up to 5 places (£25 fee) for those helping people outside of Croydon (other London boroughs/national organisations/international groups).

Bookings will be taken and assessed as received. If the event is sold out, you can request a place on the waiting list. One week prior to the workshop, we will offer free workshop spaces to the waiting list.

TERMS &amp; CONDITIONS
i) Cancellations made up to 7 days prior to the training course (14 days for Safeguarding training) will be refunded 90% of the original cost of the booking. The remaining 10% will be kept by Croydon Voluntary Action as an administration fee. 
ii) Cancellations made within 7 days of the training course (14 days for Safeguarding training) will not be refunded.
iii) If a training course is cancelled by Croydon Voluntary Action, for any reason, a 100% refund will be given to all trainees.
iv) Any offers or deals on Croydon Voluntary Action training courses are subject to change or expiration. In some cases, notice of this will be given but not in all cases. Any changes or updates to terms or conditions will not affect the terms and conditions under which you made your purchase.
v) Any changes made to these terms and conditions may be made without prior notice and at the discretion of Croydon Voluntary Action.
