Sewing for kids

A hands on six week course designed for children over 10 which aims to introduce techniques in hand sewing and machine sewing.

Join this 6-week Sewing for Kids Course for children over 10 accompanied by a parent or carer. In these 90-minute sessions, you and your child will team up to learn essential techniques that build week after week. Your child will create a series of sewn outcomes based on progress to ensure each child moves forward at a pace that's right for them, and give them pride in what they make.

It's preferable for your child to bring their own sewing machine to help them get used to using it. I will have one sewing machine that can be used but this might hinder progress especially if it's being used by a few children.

Fabric will be supplied, along with some tools of the trade. Even though this will be a small group of 6 children over 10, supervision from a parent or carer will be essential. There are lots of sharp items when sewing, so it's important that you can help your child work safely.
