Join us in this fun pottery workshop and learn all about the ancient technique of sgraffito!During this workshop, you will have the opportunity to decorate a pre hand-thrown bowl with our in-house potter. Get to grips with a variety of coloured slips and oxides before carving your own design into the damp clay. After they’ve been fired your work with be over-glazed in a clear finish ensuring your bowl is food safe. Work will be ready for collection one month from the date of your session.Sgraffito is a decorating pottery technique produced by applying layers of coloured slips to leather hard pottery and then scratching off parts of the layer(s) to create contrasting images, patterns and texture and reveal the clay colour underneath.Knowledge Required• Beginner - all levels welcome . This workshop is for ages 16+ only.Techniques ExploredS﻿graffitoMaterials Provided• All materials and firing included.What to bring• Relaxed clothing that you don&#x27;t mind getting a little messy.Transport• We are within a short walk from Stockport train and bus station. Parking is available at the Merseyway Shopping Centre NCP.Refunds and Booking Terms• Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date.
