Interested in acting like a supervisory board member for an afternoon? Or do you want to find out how a Shadow Board could add value to your Supervisory Board?

On November 16 you’ll have the opportunity to be a temporary supervisory board member of a scale-up, a pension fund, or a family-owned company. You’ll discuss real-life challenges and get feedback on your board’s decisions by non-executive directors of the companies involved. The three boardroom dilemma’s that will be discussed in small teams acting as Shadow Boards are:

- “How do we find the right balance between creating growth and impact?” Introduced by Anne Mieke Eggenkamp, Chair of the Supervisory Board of BYBORRE, an innovative ScaleUp dedicated to changing the textile industry for the better.

- “What should be our focus to increase the odds of a successful CEO succession?” Introduced by Maurits Bruel, Supervisory Board Member of Kooiman Marine Group, an independent group of multidisciplinary shipbuilders with a huge capacity for problem solving

- “Which role should the Supervisory Board have in a strategic change such as the decision to stop investing in fossil fuel companies?” Introduced by Nicolette Loonen, former member of the Supervisory Board of ABP, the Dutch pension fund for people working in public services and education.

This interactive session is organized by the NAA NL and IN-BOARD and will be facilitated by adjunct INSEAD professor Franklin Vrede (CCC'06Dec). Each Shadow Board will be chaired by an experienced Supervisory Board member.

They develop both their own collections and partner with leading brands such as Rapha, adidas, BMW, Gore-Tex, and Natuzzi. Through consultation and collaboration with other brands, they push knit innovation to find creative ways to achieve the project’s goal.

It is among the oldest INSEAD national alumni associations, and one of the largest in relation to the number of alumni.Our objective is to strengthen the INSEAD experience after INSEAD, to build an alumni network through social and business events, to raise awareness of INSEAD in the Netherlands and to provide a communication channel between the school and the alumni.
